Metro Boomin Style Trap Beat

In this course we are going to learn how make a trap beat in the style of the artist and producer Metro Boomin. Metro Boomin is one of the hottest producers the decade working with virtually every big rapper including Future, Drake, Travis Scott, Young Thug and many more. His dark trap style has influenced many of todays producers and shaped the whole trap sound coming out of Atlanta.

His newest album "Not All Heroes Wear Capes" introduced him using new elements into his tracks to give them more of a cinematic vibe. In this course we talk about how to achieve his sound and make a beat that's ready to be rapped over.

Video 1 - Melodic elements (09:56)

We use Omnisphere and Serum to make a dark trap melody that will be the basis for our whole beat. We then apply the melody to two different synths and write a bassline that we will use later on in the track.

Video 2 - Drums (08:36)

We make a hard trap beat to compliment our dark melodic elements. We pick a kick, snare, hi-hat and a few percussion elements for the basis of our beat. We then make an 808 pattern to drive home our bassline.

Video 3 - Arranging the Beat (10:48)

Finally we take all of our elements and arrange the beat into a full length track. This track would be ready for a rapper to record to.
