Lofi Hip Hop Track From Scratch

In this series you will dive in to a world of warm chords and vibey leads as you build a lofi hip hop track from scratch. Starting with your harmonies and melodies, and moving through drums, bass and guitar, you will create the fundamentals of a lo fi hip hop song. Once your track is sounding crisp and clean, you will navigate your way through the final mix and master, ending the series with a track you can be proud of

Video 1 - Writing Chords

In this lesson we discuss new ways to write chords to keep creativity fresh. We will be writing out our chord progression, as well as finding a soft melody to accompany it throughout the tune.

Video 2 - Drums, Bass & Guitar

This lesson is all about groove. Now that we have our fundamental chords, its time to fluctuate them. We will be going over sound selection, how to bring the most out of your groove, getting a live feel bass, drum patterns, and guitar selection.

Video 3 - Arrangement & FX

Now that we have the base of the song, we can add FX to give it a little bit of glisten and shine. We will be looking at different kinds of FX, as well as sound selection and how to create foley.

Video 4 - Final Mix

Usually we mix as we go, so this lesson is for final touch ups, little tricks, and cleaning up our total track in preparation for master.

Video 5 - Master

In this lesson we put the icing on the cake, and master our tune from scratch to get the best result at the end of the series.
