How To Sound Like Meduza in FL Studio

In this course, FL Studio expert Danny Cullen will show you how to sound like Meduza in their track with Becky Hill & Goodboys entitled "Lose Control”.



Introduction


Welcome! In this video, Danny introduces you to the course and plays you the final track that you’ll be producing today.

Video 1 - Chords, main Lead

In this video, Danny uses W. A. Production’s ImPerfect synth and FL Studio’s native effect plugins to design Medusa’s main chords.



Video 2 - plucks, Leads, Layers


Now, Danny utilizes W. A. Production’s ImPerfect synth and Xfer’s Serum synth to build out our track’s additional sounds such as plucks and bass layers. He builds these in FL Studio’s Piano Roll and utilizes native effect plugins to get the sounds to where he wants them.

Video 3 - FX


In this video, Danny adds a series of effect sounds from W. A. Production to create tension and add a buildup leading to the drop.



Video 4 - Buildup, Percussion, Additional Sounds


Now, Danny adds percussion and additional sounds to further improve the buildup and create a sequence leading to the drop.



Video 5 - Kick


In this video, Danny adds a kick from W. A. Production and layers an 808 from Xfer’s Serum using FL Studio’s Piano Roll to create the driving force of the track. 



Video 6 - Bass


Next, Danny uses a few layers of Serum to create the bass melody for the track which he builds in the Piano Roll.



Video 7 - Claps, FX


In this video, Danny adds details such as claps and other percussion, as well as FX sounds, to improve the song and add motion.



Video 8 - Exporting


In this video, Danny covers exporting single/multiple tracks, adding percussion, and designing the Meduza-style kick FX that add a certain flair to the song.



Video 9 - Final Say


Now, Danny makes final adjustments to the track and tweaks the FX and mixer settings to make the track sound exactly how we want it.
