Beat Making Course

In this course we are getting into the basics of producing hip hop instrumentals. Looking into three different Ableton Live projects, we see the approach and workflow used to construct them. The beat-making process is broken down to three different sections for more control during the creative process.

In the first example project we are looking into the arrangement, layering of synths, and the mixing of each element. On the second video we are reviewing the drum programming, sampling techniques and helpful tips to speed up your beat-making process.

We are taking a close look on what drum sounds were used, the basic processing and the programming.

Video  4 - The bass (15:55)

We are looking into great ways to process your bass sound, giving unique sound every time.

Video 5 - The music (07:20)

The music section is the character of the song. We are checking out a few ways to better understand the arrangement and structuring of the instrumental. We are also looking into the basic processing of each instrument.

We are looking breaking down the production of hip hop instrumentals into drums, bass and music, and examine the aspects of each section.
