Lofinity appears as an easy one-knob degrader to start. Simply choose an algorithm, then use the main HIFI / LOFI knob to dial in the amount of the effect, from clean and subtle nostalgia to total sonic destruction. This knob is more than just a mix; it scales the depth of all the internal parameters, acting as a global macro for precise control over the character and intensity of your sound.

From Tape to Game Consoles

An algorithm is a collection of smaller effects that create the overall sound. It consists of up to six categories of effects—Analogue, Digital, Glitch, Texture, Colour, and Utility—each with two individual effects. The algorithms cover the complete spectrum of lo-fi, from authentic tape and vinyl simulations to the grit of circuit-bent game consoles, offering unique sonic signatures instantly.

Lofinity gives you access to a huge palette of effects—over 100 FX and counting—to craft your perfect lo-fi sound. Inside the Editor, you can pick from unique options like Tape Slip, Vinyl Crackle, VHS, Sample Rate Reduction, and Game Console Reverb. This vast array means you can combine any two effects per section for truly original and complex sonic degradation.

Generate Unique Algorithms

Start your lo-fi journey with a wide selection of factory-made algorithms. But if you want a sound that's truly one-of-a-kind, simply hit the randomiser button. Lofinity will instantly generate a brand new, original, and completely unique algorithm for you, opening up infinite possibilities for creating sounds you’d never have thought of otherwise.

Tweak, Design, Save Your Own

If a factory or randomised algorithm isn't quite good enough, hit the Editor button and tweak it yourself! This unlocks the full power, letting you craft your sound precisely. You can adjust the two effects per section, control their individual amounts and curves, re-route the signal chain in any order, and then save the custom algorithm for later use.

Mix and Utility Controls

For milder results, use the dedicated Mix knob to blend the dry and wet signals. Keep your sound under control with handy utility functions like Gain In/Out to fine-tune the overall level, and essential tools like AGC (Automatic Gain Control) and a built-in Limiter to manage dynamics, helping you perfect the imperfection of your lo-fi tracks.
