This video course is a good course if you are looking for advanced reverb techniques to add into your production. The topics that I’ll be going over are: Gated Reverb, Global Reverb, the Abbey Road Technique, Reverb FX, and Convolution Reverb. I will be using Ableton and Logic in these video’s but please know that you can accomplish all of these techniques in any DAW.
Video 1 - Gated Reverb
Gated Reverb, the sound of the 80’s. In this video we will go over how to add shine to your drums and gain a mastery of control over reverb tails.
Video 2 - Global Reverb
Global Reverb is the quintessential glue that can hold your mix together. In this diet we will be going over how to achieve this effect for your song and we will be going over advanced tips to push this effect further.
Video 3 - Abbey Road Technique
The Abbey Road Technique was designed by Abbey Road Studios and provides a nice framework when tracking in vocals. This is a great technique to have ready to go so that your vocals sound nice and lush right out of the gate.
Video 4 - Reverb FX
Creating FX through reverb is an easy and unique way to add identity to your song. In this video we will get into specific ways we can use reverb FX and some more advanced tricks to push the sounds to the next level.
Video 5 - Convolution Reverb
Convolution Reverb is a reverb that uses IR (Interval Responses) to craft a reverb that models a physical space in the real world. Max for Live’s Convolution Reverb in Ableton or Space Designer in Logic; both of these provide a unique way to sound design or add life to your mix.
